The film has grossed $44M in its opening weekend — the biggest in Japan’s history. This feat has been achieved despite current restrictions on cinema capacity due to the pandemic.

Demon Slayer movie shattered a new box-office record, reaching revenue of $102.48 million (10.75 billion yen) in just 10 days, the film’s distributor said on Monday. That is the fastest ticket sales in Japan to top 10 billion yen.
